How is American Idol so far this season

I was concerned about some of the changes made for the eighth season of American Idol.  My biggest concern was the addition of the new judge, Kara Dioguardi.  I thought the chemistry was good with only three judges and I was afraid she would look and feel like an outsider.  But, it's been a good change and she seems to balance out Simon and Randy with more detailed comments similar to Paula.  We have really enjoyed the first two weeks so far.  There have been some very funny contestants that we have to watch a second time.  It still amazes us some people actually think they can sing, when they really have no musical vocal talent at all.  However, that is the part that makes it good TV until the real competition starts once they get to Hollywood.
