We like to go to new places here in the local Denver area. But, sometimes it's hard to come up with a new idea, say for example, finding a new restaurant on our own. A friend of mine told me about a website they use called local.com. They have local listings of all types of places in different cities in the U.S. Back to our local restaurants, we really like it because it gives a detailed description of the food served, decor, prices and reviews.
The 1-5 star ratings for restaurants we thought were very fair and accurate. They also have the ability to search for businesses like you have the local yellowpages right at your fingertips. Their local search feature is quick and easy and gives the information you need fast and in an easy to read format. So, the next time you need to search for something in your local area, try local.com to see if you like it as much as we do.
You have probably heard already about the US Airways plane that made a controller emergency landing in the Hudson River today. What a miracle that apparently no one was seriously hurt or killed. They were lucky to have such an experienced pilot who obviously made every right decision in a matter of seconds by gliding a jet airliner to a water landing with little or no engine power. It scares me to think what it would have been like to be on that flight. We don't fly much, mainly to go to my home in the Philippines. We enjoy driving when we travel in the U.S. Our road trips have gone from here in Denver to Oregon and California, to Ohio to visit my sister and Texas to visit my husband's brother. We saw a lot of great sites on those trips, including The Gateway Arch in St. Louis, The Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco and Carlsbad Caverns in New Mexico. We are looking forward to going to a lot of other fun tourist attractions when Rachel gets a little older.
